Homebuyers...
Does the real estate agent who's showing you houses represent YOU or the seller?
Unless you are working with an EXCLUSIVE BUYER'S AGENT, the answer may well be -- the seller. In a traditional real estate transaction all agents represent the seller, including the agent who brings the buyer to the table. Traditionally, sellers are protected; buyers are on their own. And that can cost you money!
Even a "designated" buyer agent in a traditional firm works for a Broker with listings to sell. The Broker is a 'Dual Agent' trying to represent the opposing interests of two clients.
It doesn't have to be that way.
Today, home buyers can choose a broker who works ONLY for them, one who will protect their interests and bargain hard to save them money. Today there is Exclusive Buyer Agency. Today there is BUYER'S EDGE.
